Tech Rehearsal is Wednesday, June 4th at McBain High School Auditorium. ALL DANCERS need to be on stage at 5pm and ready to stretch. No makeup or special hair is needed for this rehearsal. We just ask that dancers wear appropriate clothing and have their hair up. This rehearsal will run like a normal class, but on stage. The finale number is practiced first. Once your dancer has performed all of their dances on stage and Miss Avery dismisses them, they are free to go home.
Dress Rehearsal is Thursday, June 5th at McBain High School Auditorium. ALL DANCERS need to be on stage at 5pm and ready to stretch. Hair and makeup should be done. Hair needs to be ALL UP if possible. Once the dancers are done stretching, they will go back stage and immediately get into their first costume. Our goal for this rehearsal is to run through the entire show exactly as if it were the actual recital night. Once Miss Avery dismisses the dancers, they are free to go home.
The recital will be held on Friday, June 6th and Saturday, June 7th. The recital will start at 6:30pm with doors opening at 6:00pm. Dancers need to be there on stage and ready to stretch at 5:30pm. We ask that dancers be backstage, hair and makeup done, and in their first costume by 6:00pm. Dancers need to remain backstage throughout the entire recital unless on stage performing.
*Nudies are optional for Level 2 and below, but required for all Company classes.
*NO bright nail polish! Only nude colors or light sparkle is allowed. Lyrical classes need to remove all toe nail polish.
*NO jewelry for rehearsals and recital.
*Undergarments aren't necessary under the tights, but we understand if you are not comfortable removing them. We just ask that they are not visible through or under the costumes/tights.
Children backstage NEED to be supervised. We will have helpers backstage to gather dancers and take them to the stage for each dance. It is YOUR responsibility (or whomever is supervising your child) to make sure they are dressed in the correct costume and ready to go when it's their time. NO MALES are allowed backstage, sorry Dads. Please try to limit the people backstage to only the dancers and whomever is helping them. Snacks are welcome as long as costumes STAY CLEAN. Please pick up your messes and throw any trash away. Blankets and chairs are recommended. Help us leave a good impression of Steppin' Up Dance Studio while using the McBain High School facilities.
